My pre-op, lasik surgery itself and post–op experiences were pleasant and relaxing. The staff in Dr. Steinmetz’s office, Dr. Steinmetz himself and Dr. Caro were very professional, informative and reassuring before and after surgery which, by the way, was over with before you could “blink an eye.”

Seriously, there was no discomfort, and it was over with amazingly fast – and Dr. Caro’s gentle and caring personality made you feel very relaxed – you felt like you were in good hands.

You were told what to expect post-op, and they were right on target. I experienced a burning sensation, but I closed my eyes, fell asleep for a few hours, and when I woke up there was no more burning and I could see without my lenses, not perfect, but then I wasn’t told it would be.

Now, a week later, I can see an improvement in my vision, but I know I still have some healing to do – things are not crystal clear, but I can function 100%. I, as well as everyone else, just have to be patient and follow the doctor’s instructions! I did the monovision, which my lenses were, and it’s better than what I had with my lenses. I’m so happy I opted to have the surgery rather than get another set of gas perm lenses which, by the way, I hated from the day I got them and wore for about 15 years.

I would not hesitate to recommend this procedure to anyone, and I want to thank Dr. Steinmetz’s office staff, especially Amy, for their time and patience in working with me and addressing my concerns in a professional and timely manner.
